Expertise in Investment-based US Immigration Law

Belma’s expertise focuses on representing investors and entrepreneurs on US immigration matters. She guides foreign investors in pursuing US residence through the EB-5 program. Her high-contact practice is especially well suited to representing EB-5 investors and companies that may not have robust HR departments or significant experience with immigration. Having the experience of filing hundreds of I-526 and I-526E petitions, Belma is an expert in source of funds analysis. Belma also works with foreign entrepreneurs in setting up immigration-compliant businesses and pursuing EB-5, EB-1 green cards and E-2 and L-1 visas through their companies. Belma advises US companies on ways in which immigration programs can benefit their operations. Investors, start-ups and small companies require enterprising and nimble counselors who can provide individualized counsel through the entire immigration process. Belma’s clients range from start-ups to multinational companies with 1000+ employees.

Belma began her law career focusing on litigation of humanitarian cases; representation was limited to appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to attending law school, Belma worked in the international human rights field as an advocate and fundraiser. She obtained a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and attended Pepperdine University Law School in Malibu, California. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Policies, summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
